Infinite Jest and Pale King are both great

He had a unique voice, and was able to write about loneliness, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse in a way that bridged comedy and epic. And the gap between him and, like, David Sedaris or Jonathan Franzen is vast in terms of creativity and intelligence. Definitely books that are better read in your early 20s and I wouldn’t call him a favorite anymore, but there’s a time and place for everything.

Plus there are just so many good bits, like the kid who held a gun to his head to win every tennis match.

But really, the most important thing - a “David Foster Wallace is overrated” post in 2024? Don’t you think you’ve kinda run out the clock on this one?
