If Bad Company got in before Mott the Hoople. I have no problem with Generation X never getting in - they were a 2nd tier 1977 punk band with one good album - and Billy Idol has sold tons of records, plus an iconic 80s cartoon figure like Ozzy, so of course he belongs.
Oasis not getting in after all these years is a reflection of the Hall’s Americentrism. Wake me up when the Jam get in.
Even in the 80s Cyndi Lauper was a bad joke. All of her hits were just bad covers of tunes that she ruined with her shrill, bombastic screeching and extremely dated 80s booming gated drum sound. Prince should’ve given Jules Shear a contract to have her liquidated. He probably needed the money.
I have no problem with the rest of the list. I don’t care for Mariah or the Crowes but they sold a lot of records and that’s what matters.
