Panda Bear - Sinister Grift
One of the best Animal Collective related albums. Panda’s brian wilson-esque songwriting has never been better. Less trippy and weird than his other albums but the melodies are so strong I dont mind at all.

Cheekface - Middle Spoon
Cheekface - It’s Sorted
Just discovered these guys and they’re great. Sound like a cross between They Might Be Giants and Cake. Singer sounds like John Linnell crossed with Fred Schneider. Super fun dorky power pop. great rhythm section, hooky choruses, silly lyrics, 90s slacker vibes. I got a ticket to their concert in vancouver in a few months.

Barenaked Ladies - All albums.
I’ve been on a BNL kick lately revisiting their discography since its been many years since I listened to them. Surprised myself with some of the changed opinions I had. Are Me and Born On A Pirate Ship are two records I used to think were duds tha have risen a lot in my rankings. Maroon and Gordon are still their best. Everything To Everyone is also great and overlooked. Their later era records after Steven Page left the band are probably not going to appeal to anyone who isn’t already a fan or who isn’t really into extremely un-cool Dad-pop, but their albums Grinning Streak and Detour De Force are really fun and upbeat and their collab record with The Persuasions is better than it has any right to be.

Dream Theater - Parasomnia
Dream Theater - Train of Thought
Yeah their new one is very mediocre. Not that I wasn’t expecting that. Went back to Train Of Thought to remind myself of what they were like back then and yeah they used to be much better at coming up with interesting ideas to shove into their prog-metal shredding. Jordan Rudess’s horrible keyboard tones are definitely the worst thing about the band though.

Steve Reich - Music For 18 Musicians
Never made it through the whole thing before, but now that I have this is great music for meditating or zoning out to. if i ever smoke weed again this is gonna be on my playlist for sure. so cool to hear the tiny shifting details of the piece as it progresses.

Max Roach - Drums Unlimited
This is great, thanks for the rec Tabs!

Sabrina Carpenter - Short N Sweet Deluxe
man old Dolly Parton really sucks as a singer, she totally ruins Please Please Please on this remix. “15 minutes” is a great pop bop though.

Wiliam Basinski - A Red Score In Tile
Putting this on a loop at night to fall asleep to. Nice for that purpose. one of basinski’s most static and serene pieces.
