The notoriety surrounding The 7th Saga is that it’s kind of like Bayou Billy: The RPG. The developers were unhappy that the games were too easy in Japan so they overcorrected to extreme/NES-hard territory in America. The US game is pretty unforgiving; I got further than most people ever did because I got to the point where you can add a second party member. That’s like playing FF6 to the point where you can equip espers Beyond that, I never came close to beating it.
