I just read this earlier this month. I enjoyed it alright, but ultimately the conceit of the book- aliens that can change genders- didn’t feel as mindblowing as I expected. I expected something perspective-expanding. I was hoping to finish the book and be like “damn, what a crazy idea”. In those terms, The Lathe of Heaven moved me more.
