I saw Local Legends back in college and it stuck with me. I really admire Matt’s independent spirit. Making a new movie with family and friends just for fun pretty much every year is such a good idea and it’s wild to me that, in the age of everyone having a good-enough movie camera in their pockets, more people don’t do the same thing.

Will definitely check out Bloodbath one of these days.

You definitely should call him. Me and my friend talked to him a few times in college and it was kind of a surreal experience each time. I think the first time we called, he picked up and whispered “hey, I’m putting the kids to sleep, can I call you back in a few minutes?” and we immediately felt like we had intruded on an intimate moment in a stranger’s life. Then, he called back and we talked for a little while. I think we asked him for advice on how to meet girls and his advice was incredibly specific to his situation, something like “you should develop an interesting hobby like writing thousands of songs per year”.

He probably was on the phone with us for like twenty minutes. You gotta wonder how much time he spends each day just talking to random strangers lol
