Here’s the Pitchfork review of TTN, if you feel like reading it (hey, Pitchfork could write gracefully when they weren’t trying to get attention!)

https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/22053-tonights-the-night/

The Neil albums I heard are Neil Young, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After The Gold Rush, Harvest, Tonight’s The Night and Rust Never Sleeps, plus all CSNY albums and the first two Buffalo Springfield albums and assorted tracks from other stuff. I’ve always loved ATGR and RNS, and EKTIN was no slouch. “My My Hey Hey (Into The Blue)” and “Powderfinger” would likely make my all time top 100 songs.
I have NOT heard the “Ditch Trilogy,” and while I knew the 1973-74 albums were long out of print and had something to do with Neil getting scared from the huge success of Harvest, I didn’t know they were unofficially a “Ditch Trilogy” until I started reading reviews of TTN, just like I didn’t know the connection between “Borrowed Tune” and “Lady Jane.” I really am on the spectrum…

TAM would NOT be better with “Sinful Love” on it (is this the AI talking again?!?), it’d be worse, and while “7 Screaming Diz-Busters” (do you like that song?) annoyed me, nothing on T&M is anywhere near as bad as “Sinful Love” or “Tattoo Vampire.” That being said I sure do wish something on it were as good as “Don’t Fear The Reaper,” “E. T. I.” or “Debbie Denise.”
