you ever see Jules Dassin’s Uptight?

its an interesting companion to Judas etc, made in 1968 about a black man who sells out his radical friends in a moment of weakness - its a remake of The Informer from the 30s. it has some really great performances, very painful to watch at times. It was being made at the time of King’s assassination and incorporates actual footage of a memorial march at the start of the film, which segues into the radicals arguing about moving away from nonviolence - after all, look where it got them.
