Not my favorite song but a very reductionist take. Their lyrics never did much for me but they came up with lots of cool sounds, you could probably put together a solid compilation of catchy, enjoyable songs from the 90s and 2000s. The mellower 2000s stuff, Murray St and Sonic Nurse, never did anything for you? Kim’s stuff is a mixed bag for me but “Washing Machine” is one of my favorite things they ever did - the first couple minutes are intentionally ugly and then it turns into everything I want out of Sonic Youth. Also she sings some quite pretty 3-minute pop songs on Rather Ripped!
