I’ve always personally found the PMRC controversy overrated, because I don’t really think it amounted to much in the way of real censorship, and always figured it was sort of an easy-to-please thing like One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest where it’s too easy for most people to hate Nurse Ratched/Tipper Gore and root for McMurphy/Snider/Zappa/Denver, while I personally only find Tipper Gore really reprehensible in concept.
