I like Fear Of Music a lot, but i guess it isnt perfect. I Zimbra is one i tend to skip. Its good but just an embryonic version of the stuff on Remain In Light, and Memories Cant Wait isn’t terribly memorable. Animals is hilarious though and has some of the most unhinged Byrne vocals and Paper has a cool psych sound, kind of reminds me of Revolver.

I love Of Montreal and am the biggest apologist of their stuff here probably but I never got much into Sunlandic Twins apart from the first few songs. Pinned to the Mist is a killer song with a great bassline though that I always come back to. I agree with you that it just seems like some good pop songs with a bunch of stuff going on but nothing that sticks too much. Agreed with Ken that the outtakes are better. The next album Hissing Fauna is a whole lot better and Sunlandic is just a transitional kind of album.
