I always appreciated that REM seemed to disband on their terms, figured they took the band as far as could without recycling new ideas and didnt seem to hate each other at the time they broke up. If they ever would do a reunion tour at some point (who knows ??) I bet that would have an interesting set list sprinkled with deep cuts rather than just recycled hits.......
Most of those synth pop dance bands in the early 80’s (Duran Duran, ABC, Culture Club, Adam Ant, Human League, etc.) seem heavily influenced by late 70’s Roxy Music (Manifesto,Flesh and Blood)
