I never got the hype for the Saucer title track either. Part of it could be the kinda clunky production since the Ummagumma version of it is much better (same for Set the Controls). Not sure if it’s an outtake from this album or the next one but I always thought “Julia Dream” would have fit in perfectly. Wright’s songs are highlights I agree.

I like all the short Damo songs on soundtracks, but Ege Bamyasi did it better for sure. It’s still worthy of being considered among their classic era though imo, even if it’s not on the level George claimed.
Mother Sky surprised me when I relistened to soundtracks last year since it sounds like the prototypical King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard song displaced in time by several decades.
