I mean I’m way too accustomed to Bela Tarr and Tsai Ming Liang films by this point to think it’s slow, but Audition legitimately feels tight and fast paced to me. It’s just so wonderfully perverse and complicated in terms of its relationships. There’s really nothing else like it.
