You're in the PNW?

The Mid-Atlantic, especially central Pennsylvania which also has the Hershey’s plant and is otherwise Amish country, is ground zero for snack foods. In the DC area we get both the chips from the north along with more regional chips from the south. I’ve been to the Utz factory and eaten chips literally right out the fryer and if you have any love for junk food I highly recommend going around Hanover; and watching a Bears game at Giant Center in season or Hersheypark out of season. Central Pennsylvania is one of my favorite parts of the country.

AND it was settled by old German immigrants who brought pretzels with them, then they branched into potato chips and cheese puffs. What I’m saying is that if you’re ever in the Mid-Atlantic, pick up a big bag of Grandma Utz. They’re kettle chips, but they’re not just kettle chips – they fry them in lard and dump salt on it so it’s like you’re getting a mouthful of pork fat with every bite, the flavor bursting basically like a pork rind. They’re the best chips made, and I’ve had a few.
