I liked that song too. I have been going thru the Billboard number 1s since the 50s for years but haven’t bothered with much outside of the early 80s but I did discover that one a couple of years ago. It has that cheesy childrens choir in it and dated production but I really like the melody and the emotion of her voice going along with the lyrics, which do seem to be about addiction. Its one of those forgotten hits that I think was nice to stumble upon years after anyone even remembers it.

Random tidbit: Fergie is on this song when she was a little girl apparently. I think Markita was a Disney girl originally. She should tour with Olivia Rodrigo
