Haven’t listened to Zen Arcade in awhile but listening tonight, I thought that was definitely one of the most interesting songs on the album. The nice jazzy rhythm going on while Mould goes absolutely nuts in the background with guitar sounds and feedback is pretty epic. Definitely predates Nirvana’s noisy jams like this way ahead of time. Maybe it shouldn’t have been 14 minutes but I really like the sound of the jam going on so I don’t mind it.

The problem for me is just a couple hardcore punk songs that don’t sound that special too many. Mostly the first half. The interludes break up the monotony really well.
