“the old sickness came back from eight years ago”

And the old sicknesses (polio, smallpox, etc) will come back from a hundred years ago. Thanks RFK Jr.!

I’d love to share Tab’s perspective. But honestly, I think Trump has learned his lesson from being deposed once. He absolutely was incompetent the first time, but that was because he didn’t have a plan. He was the dog who caught the car. This time, he’s had 4 years out of power to reflect on what went wrong—all of the betrayals that happened from having people who weren’t just yes-men in the administration, who helped get him convicted of his state felonies—and he’s consolidated power within the Republican party completely behind him. There is no moderation now. There’s no Mike Pence to refuse to go along with decertifying the election results (JD has said that he would not have certified the election). There’s no advisers to tell him not use the military against protesters. Whatever Trump wants, he can have.
