Thr guy who drew up those rankings of IQ by countries is facing getting his papers redacted from the journals. I remember the “hierarchy” as Jews, 115; whites, 100; Black Americans, 85; and black African, 70. Seventy is considered mildly retarded, and it only went lower from there. Equitorial Guinea was the caboose at 54. Mind you, 70 is mildly retarded, and if we go down 15 more points, I guess you’re moderately retarded at 55. The average Equitorial Guinean is below the threshold for moderate retardation (supposedly). Ethiopia and Afghanistan were in the 60s. I know a lot of Ethiopians and Afghans and they’re not stupid. They were rich and connected and were able to send their families over to ger their green cards. It’s not that those countries “aren’t sending us their best”. They’re not “sending” us their worst, either. They’re bog-standard families who knew people; it’s not like they’re all here on an H1B.
