To Joe, mostly – how’s your computer? My new one is basically fixed, put into a new case, totally rewired, with a new motherboard, all of which took about three hours start to finish. Microcenter wanted $400 as a build fee that I almost once agreed to because I was overwhelmed with the mess that the computer was at the time. I just need a new graphics card with Christmas money and I’ll be set.

I’ve used the interval to make a few upgrades, most notably a new 16TB hard drive to go with my 8TB and 6TB. Ideally I’d have three redundant, identical 16TB drives with plenty of space for all my data plus any pirate booty I’d want to plunder – two in the HDD cage and another cold backup in the sock drawer where I keep my external hard drives.

Oh, before I forget: when The Young and the Restless pays off, it fucking pays off. A months-long storyline came to a head yesterday and one character killed another. It was done really well.
