That date was more the final nail in the coffin. A majority of the writers had either already left by that point or were in positions where they were managing new writers and not contributing as much main content. Additionally many of the long time writers had transitioned to working on the site’s videos by the later half of the site’s good years so there was a period where the article quality had fallen off while the videos still remained decent. Many of the former staff write for TV shows now I think.
