Several Babblers loved it, and I am one of them. The best scene is the real-life game of Calvinball, but the index is a thing of wonder, too. Pity about DFW having such problems in real life. He inspired a character in Jeffrey Eugenides’ The Marriage Plot, which petered out as a book, and I guess Jason Segel played him in a movie, too, but I don’t think I’m going to go see it.
