I’ve come to see The Smile as basically Radiohead stripped down and centered around Jonny Greenwood oddball riffs and chord sequences more than Thom singer-songwriting.

Their stuff is not emotionally affecting at all compared to Radiohead, but it is pretty cool stuff when you get into it. Plus I like they they’re just cranking the records out. I wouldn’t be too bothered if they stick to the side-projects, Moon Shaped Pool already had quite a ‘final album’ feel to it.
