RIP Ratledge, possibly the most important leg of the band, though it should be noted that I vastly preferred the first two, more accessible Soft Machine albums to all the jazz afterwards.

I have made it a point however to listen to Third once a year, even though I’ve never really warmed to the album in the last five years and cannot remember anything from the album besides the ending of “Out-Bloody-Rageous,” which I later found out was ripped off from A Rainbow In Curved Air.
