That we don’t know that Kamala is still going to win after Haitianpeopleeatdogsinspringfieldgate, because Trump said stupid shit when he was debating Hillary and still won?
Do you want to argue about Sandinista!? I’m on my second listen and it starts off pretty strong then seems to head into a pseudo-morass of pseudo-filler. I’ll probably like more of it than I don’t in the end, though. Listening to a long and variegated album like this has been second nature this year, if only because I’ve been trying my damndest to absorb all the lengthy messes Frank Zappa was putting out in the late 60s and early 70s.
Otherwise, I haven’t had much to discuss with you guys. Ten more episodes and a viewing of the crappy second movie (I Want To Believe) that nobody cared about and I’ll be done with my second run through of The X-Files, and I’m debating whether or not to do the six-episode “Event Series” or “Season 11,” neither of which seemed to kick up a lot of cultural dust for people to inhale. I definitely liked the show quite a bit less this time around than the first time I watched, in 2014, but I gather only Joe would probably really want to discuss that with me (I tried a subreddit, but those people were callous and closed-off. What a bunch of cold fish those people are!)
I’m also still working on a replay of Final Fantasy VII but at this point all I have to discuss is that it’s mostly about reliving an old journey–it seems cut and dry to me now that I’m past 40 that the game has a major flaw that younger me wouldn’t have owned up to: for all its length and the extent Square worked on the world they put you into, it’s also plain and simply not very challenging. I feel as if I could beat this entire game without using a single magic spell or summon or anything like that, just hack, hack, hack.
Final Fantasy VII, sadly, will probably cause me to dig out my old Compaq with Windows 98 and dig out my old Top 100 games list and bump it down a few spots. I am saddened by my loss.
