Speaking of games where you can screw your game up and not be able to finish, it took me three tries. Yeah, if I’d had enough saves I could have gone back, but it took me so long both times to realize how I’d screwed myself that I didn’t have a viable save.
Also, speaking of games with too many abilities that it’s not worth investing in, it has that too.

HOWEVER, it is still wicked awesome. A really deep, fun game with tons of great worldbuilding, atmosphere, and humor. Some of it might be really clunky, but it felt way ahead of its time (although I don’t know enough about RPGs to gauge that very accurately). That’s my memory of it. I took a crack at it once a year from around 2000-2002 until I beat it on my third try. I haven’t played it since.
