You're probably right about Blues for Allah

Now that I think of it, I never bought it because I had One From the Vault and thought those versions were better. I should relisten to them together when I’m done with the rest of this, and see what I think then. But the studio versions are still satisfying, as opposed to something like Wake of the Flood.

I listened to Terrapin Station this morning. It’s kinda in between, in that most of the songs sound good, but they’re stiff compared to the live versions. Dancing in the Street is corny, and I can live without Donna having a song all to herself. The rest is pretty good in a vacuum, but I don’t need these versions.

Have you never heard Steal Your Face? It’s hard to believe that it was even released. And it’s longer than Live/Dead or Skullfuck.

One thing I should have mentioned about Live/Dead is how fantastic it sounds. It was the first live rock album to use 16-track recording, and after hearing all those 2 track Dick’s Picks it’s pretty jaw dropping. Regarding sides 3 & 4, Lovelight isn’t a favorite, but they did it live all the time and this is a good version. I like Death Don’t Have No Mercy. Feedback was a dumb inclusion, but it is kind of an interesting showcase for the recording technology. There’s alot of texture there, considering it’s just a bunch of noise.
