The vocals and lyrics on Rust in Peace are frequently bad, but if they were worthy of the music it would be one of my favorite albums.
Countdown To Extinction isn’t great, but I think it’s mostly enjoyable. Symphony of Destruction has a great riff, and I even like the lyrics to the chorus, but the verses have those WTF lyrics about a robots brain exploding.
I laugh thinking about that song where Dave goes “hello me, it’s me again!”
That song is called “Sweating Bullets,” and it’s terrible. The worst thing they did up to that point (after which they stopped being good, unless Youthanasia has a chance of growing on me), but it was a single and got a video and Setlist.com says that it’s the 8th most played song. No wonder it took me so long to get over the gag factor with that band.
If you’re ever going to listen to the early albums, some of them have remasters that sound alot different than the original versions. People generally agree that only the Killing Is My Business remaster is good. To clarify, there are “normal” remasters of at least some of the albums that came out later and aren’t the messed up versions.
