but by the time you’re doing watching it you’ll feel like you’ve been watching for 15 years. It crams a lot in there. Episodes are 57-63 minutes long with a 90 minute series finale.
The narrative is sustained through all seasons, it just focuses on a different part of Baltimore for each season.
Season 1: the streets
Season 2: the docks
Season 3: Hamsterdam
Season 4: the school
Season 5: the newspaper
Yes, there is a Jewish lawyer who helps black criminals get away, his last scene in the series is him helping a cold blooded killer basically become a millionaire and get introduced to high society. His name is Morris Levy and this is what he looks like:

The show’s creator, David Simon, is part Jewish himself, which is befitting for a man with two Biblically Jewish names. But hey.
“extremely dysfunctional black people” - There are not that many genuine heroes on this show, heh.
