I only even learned about Puscifer in the first place because Mike DeFabio posted the cover art for their embarassingly titled album V Is For Vagina with the subject line “Maynard James Keenan is a highly intelligent and sensitive artist, filled with wonderful subtleties” or something like that. The actual cover is an ugly little toothy cartoon dog monster that looks like the Radiohead logo if it were designed by a pissed off 14 year old kid.
I don’t know what amps they use. They did two good albums (albeit with some very flawed lengthy songs to pad them both out past 75 minutes) a third that has its moments but isn’t particularly great (Undertow) and then their two most recent albums, from 2006 and 2019, were both boring and forgettable IMO. It is true that the band’s fans were a bit too apt in their youthfulness to play Tool up as being really really deep and intellectual.
I wouldn’t count Tool as one of my favorite bands but I would count them as weirdly some of my favorite memories, something from my college days.
Fred Durst is…still directing movies, is he? Don’t think he ever directed one that people really got much behind.
