I don’t hate the sound of their music, I just think it’s dull. They played their guitars through bass amps or something to get that sound, right? I think that was one of the obstacles for me. I remember hearing one of my friends play Tool riffs I knew with a “normal,” crunchy guitar tone and I thought it sounded better. It didn’t help that their fans could get snotty about how Tool was “the thinking man’s rock band;” but that was always true of Pink Floyd too, and they were a cherished part of my adolescence and a band I still enjoy.

“Puscifer” sounds more like something Fred Durst would be involved in.
