yeah mine is one of those Pro-ject units. it’s adequate enough. in the long run maybe i’d invest in a higher end one but considering i dont even have a stereo thats hardly a priority. I wonder if i could plug the record player into a bluetooth adapter and send it to one of those portable speakers. Not that that would be great in terms of the sound quality but at least i could play my LP collection in some capacity.

The best CD player I ever owned is my 20+ year old discman, that thing was built to last. Still have it, though again I’d need a stereo to plug it into. (cant even use headphone with it since headphones dont have headphone jacks anymore)

Another thing that sucks about living in an apartment is that I cant play the drums. Used to be my go-to method for blowing off some steam, and i always had a great time just playing along with whatever I was listening to at the time (or with my bands when that was still a thing, but the pandemic pretty much put an end to that). But now my kit sits in a box in my parents garage and i havent played drums for over a year, which really sucks. I’ve asked for my family to give me money to put towards an electric kit for my birthday (which is next month) so maybe I’ll be able to get one of those, though nothing really compares to playing a real kit. But at least it would give me the ability to practice and I could plug that into my computer which would simplify the process of recording demos for songs or whatever. Then whenever i move into a bigger place (is that even possible in this economy?) I could combine both of them into one of those 360degree neil peart monstrosity kits.
