I was turned on to Moose by our old friend Don Ignacio who reviewed them for his site. They’re kinda halfway between shoegaze and more standard brit-pop. A lot of their songs reminded me of The Stone Roses a bit.
I like Loveless as much as the next guy, but shoegaze on the whole has never been among my favorite genres and I havent felt too much need to explore a ton of the other famous albums in the genre.
Every Jellyfish song has been permanently burned into my brain. I got so into them that when I was a teenager that I explored every side project and solo album and all the demos and rarities I could find. Even the J-pop albums the lead singer produced (which was good!).
“Talk to Ya Later” and “She’s a Beauty” are both good Tubes 80s hits.
(Is there anybody he’s produced more than once, besides himself?)
Uhhh… how about The Tubes? In addition to Remote Control he also produced their 1985 album Love Bomb. I haven’t heard it!
