but that’s from pop culture osmosis alone–I never listen to him of my own volition and have only lightly glanced over his life story and the like. Really, I’m not into ANY of the 1950s guys.
But yes, I think Elvis will “survive”…the Stones, I’m afraid, might not. Heavier/edgier stuff like Zeppelin, Floyd, Hendrix, Doors, etc. have certainly eclipsed the Stones in the eyes of younger generations, and that they rival The Who as the band most frequently bashed for their aging doesn’t help.

I'd think that by this point, ridiculing rock bands for being too old is for old people. -

The one and only appeal of the Doors is and always has been that Jim Morrison is sexy and cool and sexy. Either you really fall for his bullshit as a teenager or you think they're boring and overrated (nt) -
