i agree with you actually. That teen pop cheese from the 70s is some of the worst stuff I’ve ever heard. the Archies and Tommy James are technically the 60s arent they? i like 60s bubblegum. Of course some of that is garbage too. These days some of it does sound cringy to me. Even a song like Crimson and Clover sounds like a kiddie version of psych to me.
ive been listening to Sirius XM lately (i didnt think anyone still listened to this). Got a free trial and kind of just fucking with it and seeing what channels are on there when im doing a lot of driving. There are some cheesy totally forgotten songs that come up once in awhile. Old hits no one likes anymore. i find that fascinating though and some of it i enjoy. There is basically a channel for every decade to the 1940s that is devoted to music just from that decade alone.
