That’s a notable example of the NES version being considered superior to the arcade version. The NES version even looks better. The arcade graphics are more advanced, but the NES color palate is so much more appealing.
Do you like the NES Rygar? I’m not familiar with the arcade version, but it must be more of a straightforward action game. The NES version is great, but it’s a game that’s probably better on emulator. I didn’t need save states to cheat and make the game easier, but it’s unreasonable long to play without any sort of save feature. People describe it as a game you play over the weekend without turning off your NES. Most consoles would probably end up resetting if you tried to do that now.
