fewer people voted in this election than the last one. I’ve already read that in a number of places. The information I’ve seen isn’t consistent though. I’ve seen people refer to it as a “low turnout election,” but Wikipedia says that it was a high-turnout election, but that the last one was higher:

People might just be assuming that it was low-turnout because it was lower than last time.
