I reckon they said that to drum up more interest in it

There’s talk that he’s looking at new scripts to direct. Though there’s a reasonable chance it’ll be his last either way.

I saw it (in the cinema - it got a full release here) and enjoyed it, but like you I found it a little hard to get past how thin the case against the defendant was.

Like, a woman is found dead on a pile of rocks under a road bridge, after having drunkenly walked home in a rainstorm, and no one’s willing to entertain the possibility it might’ve been some sort of accident?

I still need to watch Cry Macho but I get the impression most people thought that was probably one too many for him as a credible star. This whispy little elf beating guys up and enchanting women. The Mule was quite enjoyable though.

Brian De Palma is alive but he seems to be creatively done. What was the last thing he did anyone paid attention to?

As elderly filmmakers go I’m increasingly curious how long Ridley Scott can keep the pace up. He’s 87 and has been knocking out a 2.5 hour historical epic every year, has at least 2 movies ready to start filming and is trying to drum up hype for a Gladiator III. Surely something has to snap eventually.
