still never seen Renaldo & Clara, i guess a lot of the music footage got used for the Scorsese thing a few years back.

i think that Ebert review kinda sucks, he seems weirdly resentful of the idea of Dylan, and claims that he’s massively obscure and has no interest in entertaining anyone. but this was right after Love and Theft, a pretty entertaining album where his persona is an old-time song and dance man. and half his songs are just downbeat love songs! He’s not that cryptic!
