It’s adequate. Chalamet does a decent dylan. Ed Norton as Pete Seeger is a highlight. It’s got its share of cliche biopic moments or cheesy lines but it could have been far worse than it was. There are many aspects of his life that they dont touch on but it would be outside the scope of the film so i get why they focused on what they did. It holds up decently as a stand alone film and showcase of his early music if someone sees it knowing nothing about Dylan. But there’s nothing you havent seen or heard of before if you’ve watched any other Dyan-related film. Scorscese’s No Direction Home covers the same time period but includes real footage and is obviously superior in every way. But I still enjoyed seeing the dramatization of events fine enough. I’d be on board with a sequel from the same team covering the next phase in Dylan’s life.
