I bought Populous used then traded it two-for-one with a friend for FIFA ‘96 and NCAA College Football ‘97 (the players only have numbers in the game because of ridiculous college-football reasons). We both agreed (redundant?) I got the better of that trade. Soccer video games are actually pretty fun if you turn off the fouls.
I had The 7th Saga on SNES. Now that’s a notorious game.
CRPGs usually don’t have a good transition to consoles. Ultima: Exodus and Quest of the Avatar were very good adaptations (note: not ports) because the studio thoroughly nipponified them so to the unwitting observer they seemed like pure JRPGs. The other Ultima console games were like undercooked ports because they tried to approximate Ultima on the PC. Ultima 7 for the computer lets you have a party of up to 8 characters. The SNES port doesn’t have a party at all. It’s just one guy, because of the technical limitations of the Super Nintendo. What I’m saying is that Drakkhen might be intolerable on SNES but perfectly fine on PC.
It’s MS Paint, btw.
