The “new wave hoedown” songs Lindsey Buckingham did on Tusk “feel like cocaine.” Bob Seger’s “Hollywood Nights” “feels like cocaine.” “Love Machine” feels like cocaine. This song doesn’t “feel like cocaine.”
It doesn’t feel like Madonna either. Feels like Taylor Dayne or Roxette or whoever did that “listen to your HEART!!” song.
The “won’t you come out and play with me” bit is sort of a nice hook, and her appearance isn’t as miserably dated as some female singers from 1988 (Y Kant Tori Read!!!) She seems older than the 19 she actually was. She was Cuban American and using a Russian moniker? Hurm.
I’ve heard worse 80s production, too–like, y’know, Jules Shear or something. Yeah go ahead, rag on Jules’s voice some more, you saying he sounded like Kermit the Frog made me look him up in the first place Brian!!!

May be an obvious pick but my cokeiest song of all time would be Debbie Harry's (and Giorgio Moroder's) "Rush Rush", in a 12-inch version if there is one (yes text)) -
