It wasn’t actually mediocre video games that made me quit playing new ones around 2001, it was that I didn’t feel like keeping up with the industry anymore. I probably did miss a lot of great stuff. What I’m getting out of replaying some of these games now has more than anything to do with replaying what I’d forgotten.

I hate that you mentioned “binge watching mediocre TV shows” right when I’m rewatching Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
