Yeah I mean i should have known, but it caught me by surprise for some reason how opposite they were from what i was expecting but I like both pretentious 20+ minute shit and 80s indie or college rock so its all good to me. They kind of sound like how Animal Collective started out as a band collective sort of thing where anything goes but even they branched out and had solo albums and went against that idea pretty quickly, which I didnt realize until now and is kind of lame but I like AnCo a lot either way.

Yeah TMBG and Ween can be pretty goofy and I understand not being interested in them on a surface level. You might like TMBGs debut album at least though. Its weird and not too in your face with being clever or self conscious and humorous as much as later stuff and it has some catchy tunes.
