It’s interesting that you mention Kevin Barnes cranking out albums and Mangum doing no new music…because I found myself viewing Mangum as sort of being like Peter Gabriel not wanting to revisit Genesis because he didn’t want to “take a step back,” then I thought how would 54 year old Mangum make new Neutral Milk Hotel music, because NMH absolutely screams “guy in his 20s” at the oldest. But Kevin Barnes is cranking ‘em out? He’s 50 too…
