I can remember burnout truck drivers from my own childhood looking a lot like the second pic. It’s probably Ginger’s cowboy boots that are giving the whole thing away. I’ve also noticed that Clapton doesn’t smile a hell of a lot.

It has been postulated that some of Clapton’s appearance-changes throughout the 60s were patterned after George Harrison’s, but that doesn’t explain the 1966 “helmet hair” or the 1967 Afro he had when he was with Cream.

As for the first pic, both Eric and Ginger look like they’re wearing different kinds of pants but both pairs of pants make them look like little kids trying to look taller. Really though when I think of goofy rock star clothes from the 1960s, the first thing I think of is Brian Jones.
