Index > Every Metallica riff not written by Hetfield

I think I should have been able to guess “Jump In The Fire” wasn’t Metallica. I don’t know why–it just seems faintly obvious (is that a stupid thing to say? “Faintly Obvious”? If something’s obvious it’s obvious, not faintly obvious, right? /tabernacles) Of course I knew about “The Four Horsemen.”
“Ride The Lightning,” huh? Well take that, Hetty–that’s the best Metallica song!
“Trapped Under Ice” is a dull song. My least favorite on RTL by far. Nobody should be proud of writing that one! Never liked “Disposable Heroes” either (I hate when it slows down into the mid-tempo riff from the fast one, and that’s in this video!)
Sometimes I kind of forget Cliff Burton. He’s usually thought of as the best of their bassists and he probably was, but whenever I picture the band I almost always think of Newsted! Why is that, because Metallica became MTV stars after Cliff was dead?
Give Jason some credit too, I knew about the bass controversy on AJAF obviously but had no idea he wrote “Blackened“‘s main riff. BTW the video says he wrote “Of Wolf And Man” but it’s “My Friend Of Misery” we’re hearing. “Where The Wild Things Are” is about the only thing I’ve ever been able to stand from Reload. And I don’t think I’ve gone back and relistened to anything from Hardwired To Self Destruct or Death Magnetic.
The pic of Kirk when “Fuel” is playing makes him look female.
And shouldn’t Lindsey Buckingham be credited with “Hero Of The Day”? JK
