My understanding is that these things can come on sort of suddenly, even when you’ve had lots and lots of exposure. I developed a peanut allergy in my teens after having very regularly eaten peanut butter most of my life. That’s not to say that it wouldn’t be a good idea to get tested, but I don’t think you should be too concerned that the allergy is an indication of something else. I’ve never really heard of comorbidities with allergies aside from well, allergic reactions.
