Best selling debut album since Boston, #1 for 5 weeks in 1979, supposed to herald a new wave of skinny tie power pop to take over the airwaves. Which is sort of did or a few months with bands like the Romantics and the Vapors and the Plimsouls and so on scoring big hits in the early 80s. Today they’re remembered only for one of the most annoying songs ever to become an international smash.
