Creatively I’m not sure she was as great an influence as the official narrative would have you believe - she scuppered the Paley sessions stuff, some of his best solo work, and pushed him into making adult contemporary shit (though in fairness, she also got him to finish Smile, which turned out quite well).

But Brian’s seemed pretty out of it in recent years and I can’t imagine this will help his mental state any. To be honest i wouldn’t be shocked he follows her off the mortal coil before long.
